This conference is over. See you next time!
This is a very different conference than we have ever done before. We are on unchartered territories. We need lots of grace from you! You see, there were no other venues to choose from. The Bakers could not change their schedules. So we either had to go on the campground or cancel. There were no other options. What a sad day it would be to have to cancel the Iris conference.
So we had to rethink everything: What do we really need?
Dirt. People. The Father. Jesus. Holy Spirit. That is how they do it in Mozambique and God still shows up.
So God led us to dirt next to a river and it is available for us. Actually Riverwoods is run by Christians and “they just happened” to have built an air-conditioned building that holds 1100 people! It has running water and all sorts of modern day conveniences. There is no chandelier overhead or some other things in a 4 star hotel, but we do have a place to meet.
So how can this work?
1. Lots of patience towards each other. Many of us are out of comfort zone.
2. Consider one another as more important than yourself.
3. Keep any critical spirit at home or seek deliverance at the conference.
4. Have a flexible heart.
5. Appreciate and pray for those who are missionaries with difficult situations.
